About us

Engineers who have worked in the halls

DataOptix is a vendor-neutral data centre smart hands provider working across Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia Pacific. We have 15+ years in data centres and have worked in 50+ of them. We are not a facility operator and we do not sell hardware, which means our advice has nothing riding on it except whether you call us again.

Our story

Built around a problem we kept running into

Anyone who has run infrastructure across more than one city knows the pattern. Equipment sits in a facility hundreds of miles away, in a country where you have no staff. Something fails at an inconvenient hour. The options are an expensive flight, a facility technician who is shared across every customer in the building, or a local contractor you have never met and cannot vouch for.

DataOptix exists to be the fourth option: one provider, one build standard and one documentation format, in every city where your equipment sits. The engineers are local. The standard is not.

We are deliberately vendor-neutral. We do not operate facilities, so we have no interest in where you place your equipment. We do not resell hardware, so we have no interest in what you buy. That independence is the product as much as the engineering is.

The engineer network

How we cover this many cities

We are open about our model, because customers who understand it get more out of it.

In our core markets we hold standing teams with facility access already arranged. Everywhere else we work through a vetted network of independent field engineers who live and work in that city. This is what makes wide coverage possible without inflating overheads you would end up paying for through the rate.

It also sets an honest limit. In our growth markets we do not quote a standard SLA, because we cannot guarantee one without a standing local team. What we do instead is confirm a named engineer and a realistic timescale before you commit to anything.

Every engineer in the network is

  • Identity-checked and reference-checked before taking any work
  • Qualified for the specific work they are dispatched to
  • Briefed from your build sheet, not a generic one
  • Required to photograph and document what they did
  • Covered by our insurance while on your site
  • Working under your authorisation with the facility operator

How we work

Three commitments

We tell you when it is less than you asked for

If a request scoped as smart hands is genuinely a button press, we will say so. Overselling a single job costs more in trust than it earns in revenue.

We do not promise what we cannot stand behind

No SLA in cities where we have no standing team. No fix-time guarantees, because how long a fault takes depends on the fault. Response commitments we can actually meet.

You get a record, every time

Photographs, serial numbers, test results and a written close-out. Documentation that drifts from reality is how estates become unmanageable.
