Data centre smart hands services

DataOptix provides eight data centre services, from installing and cabling new hardware to emergency support at three in the morning. Every service is delivered by vetted engineers who work to your build standard and hand back documentation you can rely on. Pay as you go carries a 4-hour response SLA and block hours 2-hour.

How it works

Request, dispatch, resolve

The same three steps whatever the service, and the same written close-out at the end of it.

  1. Step 1: Request

Tell us the site, the cabinet, the task and the urgency. Emergency requests are triaged immediately rather than queued behind planned work.

  2. Step 2: Dispatch

We assign a vetted engineer who already holds access to that facility wherever possible, which is what keeps response times short.

  3. Step 3: Resolve

Work is completed, photographed and documented. You get a written close-out, and as-built records where the job warrants them.

Common questions

What is the difference between remote hands and smart hands?

Remote hands covers simple prescriptive tasks such as a power cycle, a cable swap or reading a status light. Smart hands covers skilled work needing judgement on site: installing and configuring hardware, tracing faults, terminating and testing fibre, and troubleshooting alongside your engineers. DataOptix provides both.

Do you work in any data centre, or only certain operators?

We are vendor-neutral and operator-neutral. Our engineers work in whichever facility your equipment sits in, subject to being added to your authorised access list with that operator.

Can you work on equipment you did not install?

Yes. Most of our work is on estates built by someone else. Where documentation is missing we can audit first, so that later work starts from an accurate record rather than guesswork.

How much does smart hands cost?

Pricing depends on the city, the service model, the urgency and the skills required, so we quote each request rather than publishing a rate card. Send us the site and the work and you will have a quote back quickly.

Not sure which service you need?

Describe the problem rather than the service. We will tell you what it actually needs, including when that is less than you asked for.
